BP2- "Guadalupe? Guadaloop?" Guadeloupe!!

Guadeloupe, is one of the most popular islands of the Caribbean being named one of the second best vacation destinations by U.S. News & World Report in 2017. It has been a part of France since 1635. The island consists of 5 main different islands which are; Basse Terre, Grande Terre, Marie Galante, Les Saintes, and  La Desirade. Although all of these names might sound french Guadeloupe is a big melting pot of a variety of cultures.

It's influences on their culture come from France, Africa, India and the rest of the Caribbean islands. Guadeloupe was first inhabited by the Arawaks and Igneris but later arrived the Caribs and later on Christopher Columbus in 1493. The french later discovered Guadeloupe as well and fought Great Britain for it and ended as French territory at the end of the war.

To travel to Guadeloupe if you're a U.S. citizen, British, Australian, Canadian or any other European Countries you do not need a visa, you only need your updated passport and return ticket confirming that you will go back to the country you came from. If you live in the U.S. you can take your regular passport no visa needed. The currency used in Guadeloupe is Euro therefore one euro will equal to $1.14 dollars.

Depending on the island you would like to visit you can choose a hotel, however the most popular hotel resides on Saint Francois over looking Anse a la Barque. It has a rating of 5 stars which I'm sure you will appreciate, including all the commodities you could ask for and the inexplicable beautiful views to the eye. Since Guadeloupe consists of various islands, I suggest you visit all of them! Each island has a different attraction or shall I say history. On the island of Basse Terre it is known for this 'majestic' beautiful scenery from waterfalls to volcano tops as seen on the picture above. It is also known for its exquisite coffee flavors. The next island would be Grande Terre, its white sand beaches will have you relaxing and enjoy an afternoon of pure bliss as you see your wonderful ocean view. You can then prepare yourself for a night out at the Le Gosier night market where you can find all types of artisanal findings. Marie- Galante brings us to our third island of Guadeloupe, here you can stay entertained by amazing food, with talented chefs who can prepare five star meal of your liking, as well as being famous for their rum a little taste wouldn't hurt anybody. Les Sainte is made up nine small islands 2 of them are inhabited but the rest you can visit. If you are here in Guadeloupe with a lover I suggest your try their famous couples cake "Tourment d'Amour" to fall in love all over again. Last but certainly not least, La Desirade is a more geological place to visit, its filled with natural reserves such as the coral reefs on their white sand beaches will have to wanting to snorkel them all day and see their amazing animals.

About Me

I'm a spontaneous person who likes to live life to the fullest. Going out of the box, such as trying every new thing that catches my eye. I am always ready for anything that life throws at me, even when I am not I will mentally prepare myself for it.

I would want to wake up one day and book a flight to whichever city I feel like traveling to. Unfortunately at this point in my life I can't really be spontaneous as much as I would like but I am striving to get there.

I am an outgoing leo who likes to have control of my own life at all time in order to be sane on my day to day life. I come from a strong household of hard working people who have encouraged me and driven me to be the best leader and hardworking woman I can be in life, and most of all be successful enough to achieve what I want in life. I know for sure that I love the life I am living so far and I will always make it seem like a first time sky diving experience.
